1. Scope and Acceptance

This document outlines the data handling practices of Jalwa U, (“Jalwa U”, “us”, “we”, or “our”), which forms an integral part of our Terms of Use. Continue reading to understand our approach to data management. By accessing our platform (“Site”), or utilizing our Jalwa U mobile application (“App”) or any associated services (collectively referred to in this document as the “Service”), you consent to the terms herein. If you disagree with these terms, refrain from using the Service.

As you engage with the Site or App, we may gather information from you as described below. Upon registration and account usage, we collect data to facilitate the Services. The specific data collected varies depending on your interaction with our App and Services.

2. Data We Obtain

Upon visiting and utilizing our Site or App, installing the App on your device, or creating an account with Jalwa U, certain personally identifiable information is gathered to enable service delivery. Further details are provided below.

2.1. Registration and Account Data

During the installation of the Service on your device and/or account creation with Jalwa U, personally and/or non-personally identifiable information may be collected. There are two categories of Registration and Account Data:

• Mandatory Information - You will be required to provide details such as your gender, name or alias, date of birth, and mobile phone or email address. This data is essential for enabling connection and friend features within our Service.

• Optional Information - You may also share additional voluntarily submitted personally identifiable information, including photos, videos, self-descriptions, and interests. For example, you can specify interests on your profile page. Providing such details is entirely discretionary. If you register using your Facebook, Apple, or Google account, we may collect additional accessible data. For instance, registering via Facebook Connect may grant us access to your Facebook ID, profile picture, birthdays, and other details, stored on our servers to facilitate service usage.

We utilize your contact information for marketing purposes, where permitted by law, such as announcing new offerings or service updates. You can adjust email and mobile notification settings to control communications. Instructions within notifications allow unsubscribing from specific alerts.

Additionally, our text messaging feature enables communication with others. We store and process your communications and related metadata to detect malicious content, abuse, and prohibited images. We also analyze communication patterns (excluding content) to enhance service understanding and platform safety.

2.2. Location Data

‘Location Data’ includes your current position derived from GPS, Wi-Fi, or IP address, which may be shared with us or other users. We require Location Data to securely establish and maintain your account, deliver Services, and uphold platform integrity. Accurate location information ensures proper connections and service functionality.

We may collect, use, and retain additional location-based information to personalize services and improve connection relevance.

2.3. Log Data

We gather ‘Log Data’ when you interact with our services, including details such as IP address, browser type, operating system, device configuration, visited pages, location, device identifiers, search terms, and cookie information. Log Data also encompasses interaction metadata with Services, such as communication partners and timestamps (excluding content unless required for safety).

We use Log Data to operate and secure our Services, enhance performance, identify popular features, and improve marketing effectiveness. Metadata, such as connection dates or locations, is utilized to refine user experiences.

Log Data is retained for no longer than 30 days.

2.4. Third-Party and Affiliate Data

We may receive information from third parties, including partners evaluating platform content safety, corporate affiliates, or linked services. This data helps operate our Services. Supported integrations allow permission revocation through application settings; others require visiting the connected service.

Payment information, such as credit card details, may be provided for service purchases. Transaction data, including timing and amounts, may be received if payments are processed through our features or intermediaries.

2.5. Inferred Identity Personalization

Logging into Jalwa U associates your browser or device with your account for authentication, security, and personalization. Subject to settings, additional associations may be made to infer identity details, such as email address hashes. This enables personalized and secure service delivery.

2.6. App Usage Information

• Device Data – Information such as device model, unique identifiers, IP address, and usage statistics may be collected.

• Activity Monitoring – We track user and others’ interactions within the App and Site, including matches, messaging, media sharing, and geographical usage. Device access to photos, camera, and microphone is required for profile pictures, media sharing, and compliance checks, such as age verification.

• Shared Content – User-generated content, including profiles, messages, photos, videos, and music, may be stored on our servers. Sharing content with others limits your control over its usage, potentially making it publicly accessible. Users acknowledge that Jalwa U is not liable for shared content misuse.

• Transaction Records – Payment details may be processed by third-party vendors. We may store transaction metadata, such as merchant names, dates, amounts, and behavioral patterns.

• Error Reports – Crash data, including device type, identifiers, timestamps, and feature states, is collected to improve App stability. Such reports generally lack personally identifiable information and are used solely for error resolution.

2.7. Website Interaction Data

Online tracking technologies, such as cookies and web beacons, may automatically gather data on:

• Site visits, including browsing history, duration, and frequency;

• Location details from devices, such as IP addresses and general geography;

• Device specifications, including identifiers, operating systems, and browser types.

These tools enhance login security, analytics, and service development. Disable tracking through browser settings to opt out. Further details are available in the Cookie Policy section.

2.8. Age Verification

The Service is not intended for individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. Age verification ensures compliance and platform safety. If underage data is inadvertently collected, it will be deleted. Users under 18 must refrain from using the Service.

3. Profile Management

Users can access, modify, or remove profile information, including pictures, names, interests, bios, languages, and birthdays, anytime via the App. Ensure shared details align with your preferences. Profiles are visible to connected users and discoverable through proximity-based contact listings. Blocking users prevents their profile visibility.

Profile details may be auto-populated from Facebook, including names, pictures, birthdays, emails, genders, and IDs. Changes can be made in the App or Safety Centre, as outlined in Section 13.
